A birthday card

Today I made a "last-minute" kind of birthday card.
I like it how it looks simple yet good :).
It's going to be given to my son's teacher for her birthday.

It has an extra pocket on the inside to tuck in a Starbucks gift card.

Here are the snapshots of the card:

Have a great Friday!

for a dear friend, a folder card to hold and to keep

Today I want to share a folder card made for a special friend in my life, Carol H.
We go to the same Bible study small group in our church and she had been a wonderful friend since the day one we met back in 2012.

The purpose of the card, besides sending our group's warm messages for the period we missed her (when she couldn't attend some of the sessions)  it was also meant to hold few study sheets I saved for her during the studies. It has two folded pockets, nothing to hold bulky items but just few small pieces.

I liked the vibrant colors in this card. It's from a beautiful paper collection from Close To My Heart that was available in promotional campaign only.

I'm very grateful for her and have her as my friend and sister.

from CK blog, creativity heals...

Hi:

I really wanted to keep this thought posted yesterday in Creating Keepsakes blog so I copied to share it in here.
I'm sure that creativity CAN heal and it can do a great job. Without "over thinking" or overwhelming myself I do believe this is a really nice way to find new horizons for the healing process.
20120413 quote two 400x615 Creativity Heals: Scrapbooking the Best in Ourselves and Others

Hope we all can remember and practice this constantly.

Happy Day!

a sympathy card

Today I'm posting this to share a sympathy card I made back in February, to our pastor and his family. His so loved father passed away about a month ago...and yes, it was Valentines Day.

During the making of the card, I just wanted to do something really simple. Without excessive embellishments. To honor the special person and his wonderful family.

Warm hugs!

Our little valentines[cards}

Mommy & me {ed.}
:)

My 5 y-o woke up today asking to make "something" for daddy - who's working just like any other day of the week - so I came up with making valentine cards*, I mean little cards.

This is what we "made together".

*stamps images from CTMH.

SO simple, so sweet.

Happy Valentines,

Open House - thank you notes

Hello...this post is to share some of the Thank You cards I made and sent to the customers, students and friends that visited our Open House few days ago.

It was so great seeing some long-time-no-see friends and surprised by unexpected friends, we all had lots of fun. I've prepared the new living room to be "show room" as I wanted to share my latest paper crafting artworks and scrapbook projects. Seems like everyone had so much fun!

In these note cards I used some of the latest embellishments from CTMH(Paradise baker's twine, Mile Post shapes, mini-medley olive collection, etc). Fun!
The patterned paper is Typeset.

Good night,

Planning the Holiday Projects - Tags(CTMH)

Here's a video to give you an idea on getting ready for the busiest time of the year!

Planning earlier to create gift tags in "bulk" can get you inspired even months before the holidays and may be a great time saver too.

A month in 2011 - welcome inspiration

This month has been somehow special for me.
I started two creative assignment projects that are so inspirational and refreshing for me. Both of these projects are like weekly and monthly challenges that are to be made based on prompts and key words, optional templates and themes.

I'm now very happy with the ongoing of these creative assignments and they are indeed giving me lots of new ideas and possibilities of textures and patterns.

Besides the creative input I also have the good news of a wonderful friend (Janell) who moved into our neighborhood about two weeks ago. I wanted to welcome her with a simple and warm little treat, so I made this Welcome Frame and Card.
The heavy weight chipboard letters were colored with acrylic paint and finished with Mod Podge(matte), I also used it to adhere the background paper and gave a thick layer of coating. This is a 4" x 4" glassy window frame.

The Bible Verse is Galatians 5:22-23.

Supplies:
paper(CTMH, We'R'Memory Keepers), chipboards(Basic Grey), acrylic paint and Mod Podge(Plaid), wood frame(Crafter's Choice), ink pads and stamps(CTMH, Sweet and Sassy Stamps).

Have a wonderful day,

a scrapbook page - "BIG little BOY"

Hello!
I'm posting tonight the page I created for Get Sketchy Scrapbooking. It is my first participation in this website. :)
The featured sketch has one of my favorite format for a 12" x 12" page, which is a great choice for projects with multiple photos to display and allows endless ways of photo/accent block combinations.
It has been a while (last July) since the day I got these photos from my iPhone to know later on that my son actually is the author of these images. Yes, my 3 yy. boy took these pictures on his own, in my classroom, when I was busy taking care of some paperworks.
For me, this is something I don't want to miss.
:)

Supplies:
papers: CTMH, Basic Grey, My Mind's Eyes
chipboard letters: K&Company, Making Memories
quote: Creative Memories
stickers and buttons: Mrs. Grossman's, others

Thanks for stopping by...

a scrapbook page - " FACES "

This is a page I made days before the passage of the year, using some of the B&W photos I have of my son.
Here is a brief about why I choose these images and the title:

"This layout was made to remember how my son is expressive and has so many fun faces for every situation. I love how spontaneous he is with whatever happens around."

I really like how the photos in these black and white hues gave me "freedom" to play with the colors. In this page I used the color scheme that I do not use often (yellow, brown and colors in between), but I really had fun putting these all together along with the vintage white acrylic paint to give the photos a framed look.
It was a quickly made page as I spent about 50 minutes, getting all the things I needed and putting on the paper.

Supplies:
papers: CTMH, Basic Grey
die cuts, alphabets, journaling spot and metal accent: Basic Grey, Making Memories
stamp pad: CTMH
marker: ZIG Millennium
acrylic paint; Plaid

Good night!

12 tags of Christmas - Day { 6 }

Hi,
How is the Winter treating you?
I've been doing fine but this week I feel like being sick. It has been months since the last time I got cough, sore throat and congestion. Hope I get well soon enough to accomplish the creative tasks I set for myself weeks ago.
It's quite a challenge to work creatively when you're not feeling well physically.

Now talking about the tags. Yes, things slow down when you're sick. But my mind just keeps thinking and planning all little and big ideas for next card, scrapbook layout, etc. In this case, my next tag for the "12 tags of Christmas".

So here's what I came up with: a vintage blue-like tag, wrapped in 2 different patterned paper that I have for a while but didn't put in use. I wanted a smooth color combination, winter-feel, snowflakes filled tag at this time. I liked how it is simple in techniques but still rich in colors.

The Scripture for this tag is:
"FAITH is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
Hebrews 11: 1

Supplies:
stamp - Verve
ink pads - CTMH
papers - CTMH, DCWV, The Paper Company
Liquid Glass - CTMH
brads - Making memories, Eyelet Outlet
die cut - Sizzix (snowflakes)
ribbon - Offray

A Thankful Heart

It's not just a holiday or a day during the month, but the "status' of a heart.
Being thankful is healthy, is worthy, brings good things toward the everyday's life.
It's a good thing we can give to ourselves and to others.
It should be so easily found in all tidbits of our routine, like an unexpected squeezed toilet paper by a busy toddler, an impressed image throughout a baby food puree, an almost invisible bubble shape seen in a bucket with detergent.
Simple and always. No matter what.

Just my thoughts for this week.

CTMH recipe box in "Magnifique" style

Good morning!

The box project you see here is made with the new CTMH My Creations (recipe box).
I used the Winter new paper collection - Magnifique (featuring the Pacifica/blue and Chocolate shades), this set of patterned papers are so gorgeous!

I love when the paper colors and motifs are universal - I mean, you can use for a wide variety of purposes and for both masculine or feminine themed projects. This is one of those sets.

All supplies used for the box are from CTMH, as sample of my upcoming FUNdamentals classes.

Thanks for visiting me today!

book page made bloom

Here you see some of the paper flowers I made from book pages.
It is a beautiful way to create my own embellishments out of the colors I really like.

These delicate little ones (approx. .75 inch) are just the right size for my handmade cards or scrapbook layouts, decorating corners or accentuating borders.

Supplies:
old book pages
craft buttons and thread
(my spare time)

Wish you a happy day!
