Open House - thank you notes

Hello...this post is to share some of the Thank You cards I made and sent to the customers, students and friends that visited our Open House few days ago.

It was so great seeing some long-time-no-see friends and surprised by unexpected friends, we all had lots of fun. I've prepared the new living room to be "show room" as I wanted to share my latest paper crafting artworks and scrapbook projects. Seems like everyone had so much fun!

In these note cards I used some of the latest embellishments from CTMH(Paradise baker's twine, Mile Post shapes, mini-medley olive collection, etc). Fun!
The patterned paper is Typeset.

Good night,

April is here! Sharing a new project...

Hello Spring...

Here is the new display board I finished this past weekend at store so to promote my upcoming classes for Scrapbook and Design & U program with EK Success. Besides the Christmas Card going beyond the old Holiday Red, I also added the 12" x 12" layout I made for the Wedding Event days before, using colors that "escape" from the traditional B&W: bright pink and juniper green plus silver. The embellishments are purposely put to remind the viewer about nature and in this case, Spring. So butterflies and flowers have a great presence in the layout.
During the making of the layout many "scrappy" people stopped by to share their thoughts about this layout and I noticed most of them were so very pleased with the colors. I'm glad to be able to bring some new ideas to them and to refresh old ones they already have.
:)

Supplies: Papers(My Minds Eyes, Recollection, DCWV), stickers(Recollection, Making Memories, K&Company), flowers, butterflies, gems and pearls(Recollection), Punch(MS, EK Success), ink(Colorbok, Tsukineko), ribbon(Offray), adhesive (Provo, Tombow), diecut(K&Company).

So take a look at the details of this project and feel free to share your thoughts too!

Have a great Spring!

ABC Scripture [B] and colors challenge

ABC Scripture Challenge #2/2011

http://thecolorroom.ning.com/

Today I'm sharing my 6" x 6" layout which is the ABC Scripture Challenge #2 - [B]. It is also the TCR#41 pallette challenge for The Color Room.

The keyword for the ABC Scripture layout is BIBLE (B). And for this, I've chosen two Bible verses that I find to fit perfectly in.

verse#1: "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
2 Timothy 16,17(NIV)

verse#2: "He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper."
Psalm 1:3 (NKJV)

The verse #1 is what I put as main words for the layout and the verse#2 is the support words. As you can see in the photos above, which shows the verse#2 as a tag, held by the main frame of verse#1(light green background).

I incorporated the 4 colors(blue, pink, purple and yellow/gold) of the TCR#41 among the mix of green, black and white. This is a wonderful color pallette and it is one of my favorites now.

Supplies:
papers - Close To My Heart(CTMH), Basic Grey
ink pad and Liquid Glass - CTMH
die cut - Martha Stewart Crafts
color spritz - Clearsnap
chipboard alpha(B) - K&Company
metal letters - Sticko
rhinestones - W2S
ribbons, trims, paper flowers - miscellaneous

Thanks for visiting my blog!

2011 new project #02 - ABC Scripture Pages "A"

Good Morning!
This is the very first layout of my other new project for 2011 called ABC Scripture Challenge, inspired by Patter Cross. She is such a talented lady! The objective of my challenge is to create a 6" x 6" layout every 2 week following the alphabet key word and to choose a Bible Verse with this word.
So "A" this week, is for ANCHOR.

My chosen Scripture:
"God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of hope set before us maybe greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an ANCHOR for the soul, firm and secure."
Hebrews 6: 18-19a

Supplies:
papers - CTMH, Basic Grey, Bazzill, The Paper Company
pearls and Liquid Glass - CTMH
ink pads - Tsukineko
felt flower - Basic Grey
chipboard letter - K&Company
markers - COPIC sketch, ZIG Millenium
die cut - Sizzix, SU'
ribbon - Offray

I'm also entering this page to Simon Says Stamp - "New Beginnings" challenge.
It is a great way to get the 2011 started!

12 tags of Christmas - Day { 6 }

Hi,
How is the Winter treating you?
I've been doing fine but this week I feel like being sick. It has been months since the last time I got cough, sore throat and congestion. Hope I get well soon enough to accomplish the creative tasks I set for myself weeks ago.
It's quite a challenge to work creatively when you're not feeling well physically.

Now talking about the tags. Yes, things slow down when you're sick. But my mind just keeps thinking and planning all little and big ideas for next card, scrapbook layout, etc. In this case, my next tag for the "12 tags of Christmas".

So here's what I came up with: a vintage blue-like tag, wrapped in 2 different patterned paper that I have for a while but didn't put in use. I wanted a smooth color combination, winter-feel, snowflakes filled tag at this time. I liked how it is simple in techniques but still rich in colors.

The Scripture for this tag is:
"FAITH is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
Hebrews 11: 1

Supplies:
stamp - Verve
ink pads - CTMH
papers - CTMH, DCWV, The Paper Company
Liquid Glass - CTMH
brads - Making memories, Eyelet Outlet
die cut - Sizzix (snowflakes)
ribbon - Offray

Thanks for stopping by!

12 tags of Christmas - Day { 5 }

It has been so cold and windy days around here that I decided to put some warm color in this project of my "12 tags of Christmas" instead. Just to add some warmth to myself.
This tag has the entire background covered by a beautiful patterned paper and RED as dominant color. The GREEN came just to bring in the details.

Today's verse: "I lift up my eyes to the hills - where does my help come from? My HELP comes from the Lord."
Psalm 121:1-2

Supplies:
stamp - Verve
ink pads - CTMH
liquid glass(CTMH)
paper - Deja Views
ribbons - Offray
glitter - Martha Stewart
brad - CTMH, Recollection
beads, pin, felt flower and leaves - miscellaneous

Good night!

Stamping can be so much fun with countless projects possibilities, and depending on the ink type you have many choices of surfaces to work with and different and artistic options to color your images...go creative!!

SWAP card

This card I made for the CTMH 2009 Regionals SWAP.
All supplies from Close To My Heart.
I like the way these colors it's "neutral" by the means of the recipient, which can be a man or a woman. Quite simple and easy project. I spent a whole Saturday and half day of Sunday to stamp, cut, embellish and assemble all the cards for the swap. In between going to grocery store and taking care of my toddler.
:)
Sorry for the blurry picture of the cards lot. Couldn't get it better through Photoshop.

Have a great night!
