Mini Album Sampler - "Express Yourself"

Hi all!
Mini Albums became one of my favorite things in the paper crafting world just before I realized it. It is always a great creative outcome to me, no matter how simple or how "big" it can be.
So, I'm sharing today a mini album. It was a class project I had weeks ago.
It's really simple but still humble patterns and fine textures with small shapes(in this case, butterflies).

Basic techniques like distressing and layering were up to this album and it is definitely a quick project anyone would like to make as gift or something to personalize.

Supplies:
papers, kraft border(Wings from CTMH), raw "milk chocolate" album (BasicGrey), punch(EK for Jolee's), pearls, ribbon, stamps and inks(CTMH), adhesive(Tombow).

Enjoy and happy crafting!

Aula de Scrapbook - "Mamaes Brasil" group

Today I'm sharing the project that was designed to be taught last week in a group setting of Bay area's brazilian mommies I met back in last December.

This 6" x 6" accordion style mini album is fun and easy to make - the student can get it done within 1:30 to 2 hours and the kit each person receives allows lots of leftover supplies to take home(brads, stickers, metal embellishments, ribbons, etc) so to work with other projects as desired.

The best of all is they can go home with a finished project - ready to use

Supplies: all materials from CTMH

................

Below are some of the class notes I had (traslated in Brazilian Portuguese):

Observacoes:

COUSIN - a scrapbook layout

Hi there:

Today's layout is one of the samples I used for my recent FUNdamentals Class.
I wanted to highlight the bright colors in complementary and monochromatic shades, besides the fun of simple embellies like a little bow or a painted chipboard.

The layout involves some quick distressing and stamping techniques plus the use of the matting to give the pictures even more dimension.

Simple and fun.

Supplies used:
papers (CTMH, Basic Grey), stamps, ink, brads, ribbon( CTMH) alpha chipboard(Basic Grey) button chipboard(CTMH).

Good night!

12 tags of Christmas - Day { 6 }

Hi,
How is the Winter treating you?
I've been doing fine but this week I feel like being sick. It has been months since the last time I got cough, sore throat and congestion. Hope I get well soon enough to accomplish the creative tasks I set for myself weeks ago.
It's quite a challenge to work creatively when you're not feeling well physically.

Now talking about the tags. Yes, things slow down when you're sick. But my mind just keeps thinking and planning all little and big ideas for next card, scrapbook layout, etc. In this case, my next tag for the "12 tags of Christmas".

So here's what I came up with: a vintage blue-like tag, wrapped in 2 different patterned paper that I have for a while but didn't put in use. I wanted a smooth color combination, winter-feel, snowflakes filled tag at this time. I liked how it is simple in techniques but still rich in colors.

The Scripture for this tag is:
"FAITH is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
Hebrews 11: 1

Supplies:
stamp - Verve
ink pads - CTMH
papers - CTMH, DCWV, The Paper Company
Liquid Glass - CTMH
brads - Making memories, Eyelet Outlet
die cut - Sizzix (snowflakes)
ribbon - Offray

Thanks for stopping by!

12 tags of Christmas - Day { 4 }

Hello!
Sharing tonight the 4th of the 12 tags of Christmas project.
I've got a special affection for everything lighthouse and have been looking for stamps that come with lighthouses' images in its variety. This lighthouse in the tag is one of my favorites in the collection ( I have only a few of them, still in the look out...).

I used the Perfect Pearls Powder to color the whole lighthouse and the waters then, added a bit of Glitz-glitter glue over the waves and lighting. Also put Liquid Glass (just slightly dabbing a small portion of it - with fingertip) to give an extra shiny effect.

Unfortunately the picture's not fair enough to show the actual pearlized result and embellished surface of the lighthouse itself.

For the edges I used the Brillance pearlescent ink (sky blue, beige), and the clear blue background that holds the Bible verse is a piece of dry embossed cardstock - love how this gave the rich texture to the tag base. To finish, 3 cute white shaped buttons were tied with a silver elastic cord and organza ribbon bow.

The featured Scripture:
"Thy WORD is a LAMP unto my FEET, and a LIGHT unto my PATH."
Psalms 119:105

Supplies:
stamp set (Stampin'Up)
brads (CTMH, Eyelet Outlet)
ink pads , pearl powders (CTMH, Tsukineko, Ranger)
glitter glue, Liquid Glass*(CTMH)
buttons, ribbon, cord (miscellaneous)
embossing pad(Tim Holtz collection)

G'night!

12 tags of Christmas - Day { 3 }

Hi!

The tag you see above is the 3rd sampler of my "12 tags of Christmas - 2010 Edition".
Today's tag features some of my favorites:
Heat embossing(with clear embossing powder for fine details, perfect for letterings), tag base background alteration with Walnut Ink application (Antiquing Solution) + Brillance Pearlescent Ink edge chalking(combined coloring) + Smooch Spray gold effect, and the use of Perfect Pearls powder coloring. The birdie's eye and beak were "highlighted" with Liquid Glass* to give them extra dimension. The nest is a piece cut from a real wood sheet paper, it has the actual texture of wood which I find very neat for this project.

The Scripture of the day is:
"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer."
Romans 12:12

Supplies:
ink pads and sprays(CTMH, Tsukineko, Clearsnap)
papers( Creative Imagination, Recollection, Paper Company)
Stamps (CTMH, Stampin'Up)
Rub-on( Heidi Grace Designs)
Pearl Brads (Eyelet Outlet)
Paper Flower and leaf (Prima)
Liquid Glass ( CTMH)

Good Night!

3" x 3" mini album - Scriptures Inspirations

Hi everyone...
Today I'd like to share the 3" x 3" mini album set I made a time ago.
Except for the Scripture words (from Verve stamps), all the supplies I used are from CTMH.
The papers and the flower stamp are from the Topstitch Collection - workshop kit.

These albums are perfect to hold my Bible verse stamps or stamped word pieces as well. And because they are hand size and quite small, they are also perfect to be carried around in the purse or bag like a mini photo album.
Just love them, so versatile and cute.

Happy Day!

CTMH recipe box in "Magnifique" style

Good morning!

The box project you see here is made with the new CTMH My Creations (recipe box).
I used the Winter new paper collection - Magnifique (featuring the Pacifica/blue and Chocolate shades), this set of patterned papers are so gorgeous!

I love when the paper colors and motifs are universal - I mean, you can use for a wide variety of purposes and for both masculine or feminine themed projects. This is one of those sets.

All supplies used for the box are from CTMH, as sample of my upcoming FUNdamentals classes.

Thanks for visiting me today!
