for a dear friend, a folder card to hold and to keep

Today I want to share a folder card made for a special friend in my life, Carol H.
We go to the same Bible study small group in our church and she had been a wonderful friend since the day one we met back in 2012.

The purpose of the card, besides sending our group's warm messages for the period we missed her (when she couldn't attend some of the sessions)  it was also meant to hold few study sheets I saved for her during the studies. It has two folded pockets, nothing to hold bulky items but just few small pieces.

I liked the vibrant colors in this card. It's from a beautiful paper collection from Close To My Heart that was available in promotional campaign only.

I'm very grateful for her and have her as my friend and sister.

a past Class project, create a card stamping with SG - a quick view

This photo is a EKB Stamping Gear 101 class project - a sneak peek photo I'd like to share.
It is one of the class samples from one my 2013 classes @ Michaels.

It is essential to use the Inkadinkado Stamping Gear(SG) tool (EKBrands) as part of the project making. The tool itself allow the user to be as much creative as she can be. The sky is the limit!

You can find this tool at Michaels, Joann or any other art & craft store near by.

Stamp on!

from CK blog, creativity heals...

Hi:

I really wanted to keep this thought posted yesterday in Creating Keepsakes blog so I copied to share it in here.
I'm sure that creativity CAN heal and it can do a great job. Without "over thinking" or overwhelming myself I do believe this is a really nice way to find new horizons for the healing process.
20120413 quote two 400x615 Creativity Heals: Scrapbooking the Best in Ourselves and Others

Hope we all can remember and practice this constantly.

Happy Day!

a sympathy card

Today I'm posting this to share a sympathy card I made back in February, to our pastor and his family. His so loved father passed away about a month ago...and yes, it was Valentines Day.

During the making of the card, I just wanted to do something really simple. Without excessive embellishments. To honor the special person and his wonderful family.

Warm hugs!

Our little valentines[cards}

Mommy & me {ed.}
:)

My 5 y-o woke up today asking to make "something" for daddy - who's working just like any other day of the week - so I came up with making valentine cards*, I mean little cards.

This is what we "made together".

*stamps images from CTMH.

SO simple, so sweet.

Happy Valentines,

Open House - thank you notes

Hello...this post is to share some of the Thank You cards I made and sent to the customers, students and friends that visited our Open House few days ago.

It was so great seeing some long-time-no-see friends and surprised by unexpected friends, we all had lots of fun. I've prepared the new living room to be "show room" as I wanted to share my latest paper crafting artworks and scrapbook projects. Seems like everyone had so much fun!

In these note cards I used some of the latest embellishments from CTMH(Paradise baker's twine, Mile Post shapes, mini-medley olive collection, etc). Fun!
The patterned paper is Typeset.

Good night,

Passion for butterflies - one card

It has been since when I was a teenager...that I discovered how I was (and still am) fascinated about butterflies and everything about this amazing creature.
Now, more than ever, as scrapbooker and paper crafter myself, this passion has been even deeper. Just love the nature sense of it that overcomes beyond its visual beauty.

I've been collecting recently some butterfly stamps and crafty things to work with.
The card above is one I made a couple weeks ago, with a friend, during one of our Bible Study sessions.

Everything is possible when you believe. This has been my "motto". So in here it is combined with the dream of butterflies.

Supplies for the card:
paper, pearl, ink pad - CTMH; punch - Martha Stewar; stamp - Verve.

Thanks for stopping by!

gift giving: a scrapbook layout for Laura

Hi everyone:

At this time I'd like to share this two pages layout I made recently as a gift for Susan, one of the brazilian mommies I met last year. The layout title "bebe Laura" (bebe=baby)which is the name of her baby girl born in February.

I wanted to use a subtle combo of colors for this layout. And I liked the outcome of it.
The right page of the layout has few matted spots where features messages from four of the mommies of the Mamaes Brasil group. I found this such a wonderful way to spread the love and welcome the arrival of a new baby.

This layout has no predetermined blocks for photos so this means there are many ways to size and to hold the pictures. It could be a big 5"x 7" or 6"x 6", few traditional 4"x 6" or multiple 3"x 3". Or anything in between.

Supplies:
papers: CTMH; flowers: Prima, CTMH; brads:CTMH; stamp and ink:CTMH; kraft border: CTMH; Liquid Glass (CTMH); ribbon(misc.).

Sending sunshines,

Aula de Scrapbook - "Mamaes Brasil" group

Today I'm sharing the project that was designed to be taught last week in a group setting of Bay area's brazilian mommies I met back in last December.

This 6" x 6" accordion style mini album is fun and easy to make - the student can get it done within 1:30 to 2 hours and the kit each person receives allows lots of leftover supplies to take home(brads, stickers, metal embellishments, ribbons, etc) so to work with other projects as desired.

The best of all is they can go home with a finished project - ready to use

Supplies: all materials from CTMH

................

Below are some of the class notes I had (traslated in Brazilian Portuguese):

Observacoes:

my new [polka dots plant] pinkies - Spring Soft colors

After many years loving shades of blue and black, I'm definitely back to my valueble pinkies.
From my storage bins to ribbons, pinks are so present in my little craft space right now.
And these are the newest additions to my corner of creativity.
Love the fine and intricate details of the leaves and of course, its colors. SO pink.
:)

Are you ready for the Spring too?

Hugs,

ABC Scripture challenge #3 - [C] Confidence

Hi.

I'd like to share my ABC Scripture Challenge #3 [C ]. And today's {key}word is confidence.
Could not get a better fit word for the moment right now. CONFIDENCE.
To start the year and keep all sort of projects on going, the old and new ones. And feel good with what you actually have or can-do.
No matter how limited we perhaps find us in any situation or environment.
Be confident. How good it is.

Among so many verses that "carry" confidence, I chose these two to be featured in my challenge layout:

"So do not throw away your CONFIDENCE; it will be richly rewarded."
(Hebrews 10:35)

"In Him and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and CONFIDENCE."
(Ephesians 3:12)

Supplies:
papers(Basic Grey, CTMH, American Crafts); ink(CTMH); bird and flower die cuts(K&Co); chipboard alphabet(Momenta); marker(ZIG Memory System); ribbon(CTMH miscellaneous).

Good night,

A month in 2011 - welcome inspiration

This month has been somehow special for me.
I started two creative assignment projects that are so inspirational and refreshing for me. Both of these projects are like weekly and monthly challenges that are to be made based on prompts and key words, optional templates and themes.

I'm now very happy with the ongoing of these creative assignments and they are indeed giving me lots of new ideas and possibilities of textures and patterns.

Besides the creative input I also have the good news of a wonderful friend (Janell) who moved into our neighborhood about two weeks ago. I wanted to welcome her with a simple and warm little treat, so I made this Welcome Frame and Card.
The heavy weight chipboard letters were colored with acrylic paint and finished with Mod Podge(matte), I also used it to adhere the background paper and gave a thick layer of coating. This is a 4" x 4" glassy window frame.

The Bible Verse is Galatians 5:22-23.

Supplies:
paper(CTMH, We'R'Memory Keepers), chipboards(Basic Grey), acrylic paint and Mod Podge(Plaid), wood frame(Crafter's Choice), ink pads and stamps(CTMH, Sweet and Sassy Stamps).

Have a wonderful day,
